Viewing the Whales from the shore at Hermanus

We leave Cape Town and drive the 130km, coastal route, to the popular Whale breeding ground in Hermanus and Walker Bay.
Here the Whales can be seen from as close as 100m. The female whales come here to give birth and it is an amazing sight to witness the birth of a calf.

Tours operate Daily.(July - November)

What the whales might be seen doing
Spyhopping - poking just their heads out of the water.
Lobtailing - hitting the water with their tails
Sailing - sticking only their tails out of the water
Breaching - Jumping out of the water and landing on their backs
